Dr Jumeau lives and works in Cairns, North Queensland practicing out of Cairns ENT Pty Ltd. One week in eight he works at Monash Health in Melbourne mostly for the professional stimulation of working in a large tertiary unit, maintaining strong links to his peers, academic up keep and the enjoyment from being involved in the teaching of advanced ENT surgical trainees. The work at Monash is in the ‘hands on’ teaching of rhinoplasty and nasal reconstructive surgery to specialists in advanced training and consulting as part of Monash’s Complex Rhinology Clinic which only receives referrals from other specialists and is one of only a few in the world with this format, offering this service within the public system, in the world.

Dr Jumeau also works at Cairns (Public) Hospital.

Dr Jumeau has a strong background in rural generalist ENT surgery with very good experience in otology (ear), rhinology (nasal airway and sinus surgery) and paediatric ENT surgery. He performs parotid gland surgery but not head and neck cancer surgery.

Dr Jumeau’s specific area of interest and experience is in rhinology and specifically rhinoplasty surgery. This may be for cosmetic or functional reasons (often both). A large proportion of his work involves complex revision rhinoplasty work. Dr Jumeau is very active in this area attending several international conferences each year and maintaining a strong academic interest in rhinoplasty.

Over the years, Dr Jumeau has done quite a bit of remote Australian and international ENT service work for the Pacific Islands Project through the College of Surgeons. These trips have been to Micronesia and several visits to the Solomons as well as many years of work and over two dozen week long visits to Weipa, Cooktown and Thursday Island up in Cape York through Queensland Health. Through these visits, and his main base in Far North Queensland, Dr Jumeau has good ENT experience in Indigenous Australian health.

Dr Jumeau’s personal areas of interest are mountain biking, motorsports, fitness, snow sports, food and travel. He loves construction and a good project.
